Chapter 7

Marc

Neither man spoke as Marc rushed down the stone path leading to Aiden’s A-frame lake cabin, almost hidden among the trees. Marc’s heart slammed against his ribcage. He’d spent the last six months in dry dock. He’d skipped the bars, clubs, and anything that could have led him down the road he’d frequented for years. Meet a man, fall for him, sleep with him, and hope for his happily ever after. Which never happened.

He was smart enough to know you usually don’t find the “relationship type” at a club, but until Graham had told him to take a step back and reflect on what he wanted, and if what he was doing would lead to his goal, Marc had continued to look for love in just that kind of place.

Now, here he was, meeting a man to whom he was instantly attracted and following him home a week later. It felt a little different than his normal MO, though. They hadn’t met in a bar and Marc definitely didn’t get a “douchebag” vibe from Aiden. Marc had a radar for those men, and in the past he’d ignored it, hoping he was wrong. He never was.

Now, Aiden opened his door, flipped on a light, and ushered Marc into a quaint living and kitchen area. Marc glanced at Aiden to tell him he liked the place, but the look in the man’s eyes stopped him. Desire rolled off Aiden in waves, and Marc shivered as Aiden grasped his upper arms and gently pushed him against the wall.

Marc gasped before Aiden pressed their lips together. Nothing gentle about this kiss. Aiden took control, his tongue demanding Marc let him in. He opened for Aiden, a moan escaping from deep in his throat.

Heat spread through him and his cock throbbed as Aiden’s tongue slid with his. Their bodies pressed together and Marc pushed up on his toes. Their height difference may have posed an issue, but they made it work.

Aiden cupped Marc’s ass, pulling him from the floor, and instinctively, Marc wrapped his legs around Aiden’s waist as he had done on the dance floor tonight and during their first kiss on the Fourth of July.

Oh, yeah, much better. The kiss intensified and he trembled. Marc wrapped his arms around Aiden’s neck, running his hands through his hair. Fuck, the man could kiss.

Aiden kissed along his cheek, down to his jaw, then to his earlobe, a sensitive spot for Marc.

“Oh, God,” he moaned.

“Like that?” Aiden asked, his voice deep, his breath hot against Marc’s skin.

Marc nodded. “Yeah.”

Aiden pulled back to look at him. Dark heat flashed in his blown pupils, and Marc trembled even more, biting his lower lip.

“What else do you like, Marc? Tell me how I can make you feel good.”

Oh, hell no. No fucking way would Marc tell Aiden what he needed, and yet, he craved it more than anything else. The earlier order from Aiden had sent Marc hurrying inside the cabin, which should have given the man a hint as to what he liked already.
